Dr. Christina Yfanti PhD
Marie Curie Individual Fellowship Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark
Dr. Yfanti obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees in Exercise Physiology from the University of Thessaly (Dept. of Physical Education and Sports Science) in Greece and after receiving the Greek State Scholarship she completed her PhD studies in Exercise Physiology at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Health Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Bente Kalrlund Pedersen. She then moved to University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas where she focused more on brown adipose tissue metabolism in humans.
Between 2012-2022 Dr Yfanti had been working as a Project Manager and/or Clinical Scientist in multiple Clinical Research Organisations (therapeutic areas: Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Neurology, Metabolic Diseases) in the Netherlands. Since 2022 and after receiving a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, Dr. Yfanti has moved back to University of Copenhagen where her research work focuses on the use of exercise as adjunct therapy in chronic diseases, and especially in cancer.
She serves as a reviewer in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Her citation index is >3700 with an H/index of 18.
